Caskets of Hnor was conceived three years ago while my brother and I were driving home late from an uncle's funeral in Ft. Worth, Texas. About 2 a.m. while staring out in the darkness it occurred to me that while I had seen many beautiful caskets in my life I had never seen on that truly honored firefighters. As a professional firefighter I began to silently think about what I would like on my casket. I felt that it should be simple, without the normal frills and fluff of a commerical casket, made of hard wood and should incorporate the tools and symbols that distinguish the fire service. I believe I have designed such a casket.

Recently I had a casket half way through production when I learned that a friend and fellow firefighter was killed in the line of duty. I was proud to provide the casket for his funeral. At the funeral I recieved many positive comments and several requests from active and retired firefighters to build one for them when the time came. I would like to extend the same opportunity to all active, retired, professional and volunteer firefighters.
